Neighbourhood Watch

The Neighbourhood Watch (NW) Area Co-ordinator covering Oaksey Village is Fred Price who can be contacted if anyone has concerns or wishes to share information about criminal or suspicious behaviour.  The Oaksey NW has members throughout the village who share information and advice with their neighbours, and to whom information is emailed from the Wilts and Swindon Neighbourhood Watch Police Liaison Officers.

Latest Information: There have been two recent offences in West WIltshire where bogus workers have attempted to carry out work and charge extorsionate amounts for the work carried out. Please do not accept any cold callers. If work is identified like a loose roof tile please thank them forpointing it out and you will arrange the work. Always speak with family members about the work required. Always contact three companies to provide a FIXED PRICE QUOTATION and do not agree to any additional "extras" unless the builder can provide they are warranted and they recost the quote. Ensure you keep everything in writing. Do not pay anything extra and pay by cheque where possible to provide an audit trail. Never accept a lift to the bank to draw the money out. Anyone who does turn up uninvited and starts work please ask them to stop what work they are doing and turn them away and call the police on 999. Prompt action may result in an arrest so please do not hesitate to ring 999.
