Recent news

Over the last year or so there have been several on going cases that we have

been involved in investigating

One of these is the rape, false imprisonment and abduction of a female which

was found in Leigh. The male has been given a life sentence for these

offences and 2 counts of indecent images.

There has also been an attempt distraction burglary in Minety over the last

couple of months where the offender knocked on a door asking for change of a

£50 note. Luckily he was dismissed by the home owner. Due to witnesses and

other similar offences which had been committed across the Wiltshire, Thames

Valley and Avon and Somerset area a male has been arrested and charged with

this offence and over 70 similar incidents.

Recently we have received an email from a male in Romania who has seen what

we believe to be the lectern stolen from Holy Cross Church, Ashton Keynes at

a fayre in Romania. We are currently working with Interpol on our

investigation

Consultation for December is as follows:

14th December - Outside Oaksey School between 1445 and 1530

15th December - Outside Crudwell School between 1445 and 1530

The priority for the team up till Christmas is safer driving which focuses

on speeding, drink driving , wearing seat belts and use of mobile phones We

aim to address this priority by high visibility enforcement at both static

and mobile points. Offenders will be dealt with robustly but also with

discretion. This will link in with the Christmas drink drive campaign. We

will work in partnership with the roads Policing Team.
